Brooke had a high fever for a few days so we took her to the doctor and they said she had an ear infection that we needed to treat. So after giving her amoxicylin for a day she developed a rash. So we went back to the doctor and said that the rash wasn't an allergic reaction to the amoxicylin and that her ear looks better so we can quit giving her the medicine. So they said she had a viral rash that should last for 5-7 days but luckily it's already going away after 3 days. She's been a trooper. She had one really bad night (or better yet I should say mommy and daddy had a bad night with her) when her fever was high but other than that she's done pretty well.
She is definitely on the go now and likes to pull up on whatever she can. She still likes to stand on her tiptoes so I don't know how close she is to walking, but she sure tries!

Happy Father's Day
I feel extremely blessed to have Ryan and Brooke in my life. It has been so amazing watching Ryan be a dad. One of the qualities I was looking for in a husband was for him to be a good father and Ryan has completely lived up to my hopes. He is wonderful with Brooke. One little thing that I always think is cute is when we go to restaurants Ryan always sits next to Brooke and takes care of her. I always look around to other people who have children and I always see the child seated next to the mom and the mom is busy try to keep the child happy. It's just one of the many things Ryan does without thinking that I appreciate. Ryan also plays with Brooke and has her laugh constantly. He is definitely more fun that mom is! Oh well! Brooke truly loves her daddy and it's wonderful to see. Thanks for being such a wonderful husband and father, Ryan!
For father's day and we took the little monkey to the pool where she had a good time.

Big helper with laundry
Brooke is going to make a great little house wife. In addition to helping me empty the dishwasher she is also good at helping me with laundry. These were daddy's clothes and he wasn't too excited when he saw all the pictures! ha, ha, ha. I think every clean item in the basket made it into her mouth!

Hurting Mommy's Feelings
Aunt Mei Mei went with me to pick Brooke up during our lunch break because Audrey had her down at the church. So Mei Mei went and grabbed Brooke out of Audrey's arms and was walking out with her. Mei Mei wanted to duck into the bookstore and grab something so I offered to take Brooke and Brooke made it clear she didn't want her mommy to take her. So I followed them to the bookstore and Mei Mei was trying to pay so I took Brooke to get her loaded in the car and Brooke started crying. Not just whimpering or complaining, but full on crying. Tears were streaming down her face and you would've thought that I was hurting her. So she cried and cried until Mei Mei jumped in the backseat with her and then she was happy as a clam. Talk about a dagger through mommy's heart!!

Babies Galore
Nana wanted to have a photo of all five of her baby granddaughters and let me tell you . . . it was utter chaos trying to get all 5 babies in the picture. We tried taking the photo in the grass first and we had most of the girls positioned and poor little Hadley is the youngest and wasn't completely profficient at sitting up which was only compounded by the fact that the girls were sitting on a slight slope that made it even harder. So we got the girls positioned and then Hadley fell backwards and started crying and wouldn't stop. Then we went inside the studio to try to get the girls positioned for the other photo. Mia and Brianna were climbing around on the step and it was very scary since the studio had all concrete floors. I think we completely overwhelmed the photographer because when we would have the girls lined up we would all be shouting different babies names to get them to look and smile. It was chaotic and exhausting. I definitely think the photographer was happy to see us go. When she showed us the proofs of the pictures she requested that no babies come to the appointment. Pretty funny!

Giving Kisses
Our sweet little angel is giving love back now in the form of kisses. Sometimes they are wet and sloppy and other times she won't give them at all. How is that for a fickle female!
Swimming for the first time
We took Brooke to Aunt Mei Mei's pool for her first swimming experience. The water was ice cold and I wasn't sure how she would feel about it, but she loved it. We started her off by just dipping her feet in and she liked that. Then Ryan got in with her and slowly dipper her more in the water. Then we stuck her in her float and she had a blast. She would kick her feet under the water in the float and it was so cute! We are pretty sure she is the most precious thing on Earth!
Big Help in the Kitchen
My oldest sister made comments about how she couldn't empty her dishwasher without her girls "helping" and I always thought it couldn't be that big of a deal, but now I know what she is talking about. I opened the dishwasher and I heard Brooke crawling like a mad woman to get into the kitchen. She came over and was standing up at the door and I was at the sink doing dishes and I turn to the side to put something in the dishwasher and see this big helper perched on the dishwasher! She was quite proud of herself for climbing up there. She also likes to help me "empty" the dishwasher by pulling out the clean silverware and dropping it on the floor. It is such a huge help!
