A box

Brooke had a lot of fun playing in the box that her big girl bedding came in. We are getting a new "big girl" room set up for Brooke and leaving the nursery for Brooke's baby sister. Hopefully Brooke will be excited about her big girl room and will want to move in there without us forcing the move. We still have a lot of painting and stuff to do before her new room is ready though.

The Potty

Today was a big morning for the Brooke-a-lou. She woke up earlier than usual so I got her out of bed and brought her in my room while I finished getting ready for work. Normally she is still asleep when I leave. I had purchased a bag of Skittles last night so I told Brooke that if she went potty today she could have a piece of candy. Then we walked out of my room and she saw the bowl of Skittles sitting on the countertop next to the computer.

She immediately went over and said "want it, want it". I told her that if she went potty today that she could have a piece. So I was loading up my stuff and getting ready to walk out the door and she came running over to me and said "mommy, potty; mommy, potty". So I asked, "do you need to go potty" and she said "yes". I was tempted to just walk out the door and let Aunt Mei Mei deal with it since we have sat on the potty many times before to no avail. But I decided to give her a shot this morning.

First she wanted to sit on the big potty for a minute. Then she got off and stood in the bathroom and decided she wanted to sit on the little potty seat. I sat with her and asked Aunt Mei Mei to get her a drink of water. So Mei Mei returned with the water and she had a small drink and about another minute later lo and behold . . . Brooke went potty. I think her auntie and I were definitely more excited about it than she was. The first word out of her mouth was "candy". As much as I didn't like the thought of her eating candy at 7:10 AM I figure I had better back up what I said. So I let Brooke have two pieces of Skittles. Here was Brooke after her first time going potty on the potty as she was prancing around eating her Skittles:

And here was Brooke after her two Skittles were eaten and she wanted more Skittles and mommy said no! Talk about a meltdown!

Backpack

Brooke loved her cousins' backpacks. I think I definitely need to get her one.

Bounce House

Brooke went and visited her cousin's and had fun in their bounce house. When she first stepped in it, it was a little overwhelming with the other 3 girls bouncing around and Brooke was scared and wanted out. Then she got back in again with just Hadley and really warmed up to it.
