Jumping off the dock

Brooke doesn't act afraid around water which is a good thing and a bad thing. Ryan was swimming and I was standing on the shore with Brooke and Ryan said, "swim out to daddy" (which of course was a joke) but she crouched down and started to launch herself into the water but luckily I was able to grab her before she plunged in since she didn't have on a life jacket!

Humpty Dumpty with Ariya

We had our annual family vacation to my grandmother's lake house. Brooke really loved spending so much time with her cousin Ariya. Here they are playing "humpty dumpty" and "hickory dickery dock" with Poppy.

4th of July at Big Cedar

For the 4th of July we went down to Big Cedar with Robert, Robin, Ross and Rachel. Brooke had fun riding on the boat and she was a good girl and kept her life jacket on the whole time and didn't complain about it. Ryan had the bright idea to try to take Brooke to the fireworks. They didn't start until late (after 9:30 PM) so Brooke was very tired and just snuggling in Ryan's lap. Ryan prepared her and told her that the fireworks were going to be very loud would go boom so Brooke would throw her hands in the air and say "boom" and it was very cute. Before we left the villa to head to the fireworks some kids had some bottle rockets in the back yard and Brooke kept saying "don't like it, don't like it" and I told her those were fireworks. So on the way to the fireworks she mentioned "Brooke don't like fireworks". So finally the fireworks started and it was the loudest blast at the beginning that I'd ever heard. I almost started crying myself since I was fretting about Brooke (for the fireworks they were mimicing a gun battle so there wasn't even fireworks to look at . . . just a lot of loud noise). Brooke did start crying and said that she wanted Papa to hold her. So he did but she was still not very happy so Ryan and I took her back and put her to sleep. Maybe she'll enjoy them next year!

Fun with Fountains

Brooke was having a lot of fun with her daddy running through the little fountains.

Brooke on slide

Brooke loves the pool. When she goes with Aunt Mei Mei she goes down the slide all by herself. She has also started to go under water when jumping off the slide. Most of the time she really likes it and says "more again".

Pool with Ariya

Brooke and Ariya were really cute at the pool. They were sitting side by side in carseats on the way and were holding hands. It was precious. Brooke looks like the bully in this video. She was definitely instructed after the video that Ariya didn't appreciate what she did and that she shouldn't do it again!
